Two Russian Capitals. Moscow and St.Petersburg




Arrival to the international airport of  Moscow. Meeting with English speaking guide Transfer to the center of the city,  breakfast.

City-tour in the center of Moscow visiting Red Square, St. Basiliy Cathedral, Vorobyov hills, building of Moscow university, “Bagration” bridge, Governmental buildings, central streets and squares, Poklonnaya Hill where the Monument of Victory in the Second World War is placed.

Accommodation at the hotel. Lunch.

Pedestrian excursion in the historical part of Moscow including memorial at the Grave of Unknown Solder, Alexander Garden, Manezhnaya Square.

Excursion on thee territory of the Kremlin including Assumption Cuthedral, Tsar-Cannon and Tsar-Bell. Dinner.

Travel by Moscow underground to Kolomenskoye, the residence of Tsar Alexey Mikhaylovich with a pearl of Russian wooden architecture: groups of different by sizes and forms buildings and towers, very peculiar scaly roofs.   Lunch.

Pedestrian excursion  around Old Arbat area.  Dinner.

Excursion to the Armoury (a museum in the Kremlin) with unique, the biggest and oldest collection of Russian Treasure where you can see military trophies, the State regalia, smart imperial clothes and coronation dress, vestments of patriarchs of Russian Orthodox Church, items of church utensils, gold and silver products of Russian, West European and East masters, the ancient weapon, subjects of smart horse harness and carriages. Lunch.

Excursion to Tretyakov Gallery with the main national collection of  Russian Art.

Walk at Zamoscvorechie, the oldest district in the central part of Moscow where a lot of churches with golden domes make the image of Old Russian “Golden Headed Capital”.  Dinner.

Transfer to the railway station for the train to St. Petersburg.

City-tour “Masterpieces of the Northern Capital” including Palace, Senate and St. Isaac squares, Menshikov Palace, Vasiliy Island, Rostral Columns, Mars Field, Letniy Garden, Smolmiy Cathedral, Tavricheskiy Palace,  the Admiralty, monument “Copper Horseman”, “Aurora” cruiser.

Excursion to Peter and Paul Fortress (Peter and Paul Cathedral, prison, monument to Peter the Great. Lunch.

Excursion to Russian museum one of the biggest in Russia.

Excursion to St. Isaac Cathedral.

Visit of the Hermitage, located in the former Winter palace, residence of Tsars. The Hermitage is the biggest museum of Russia as well as one of the most important in the world as it is home to more than 3 mil. masterpieces.  It is well-known all over the world for its collections of Italian, Flemish, French and Spanish pictorial art, particularly for masterpieces of Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Rembrandt and Van Gogh, and French impressionists Gauguin, Matisse, Picasso… Lunch.

Excursion to Peterhof with the visit of the Grand Palace and the park. Peterhof, rightfully called "Russian Versailles", in former days "Petrodvorets", was the main summer residence of the Tsars. Located on the southern coast of the Gulf of Finland near the sea and about 30 km from St. Petersburg, it is undoubtedly one of the main centers of interest of the former tsar’s capital. The visit consists of the Big Palace as well as the Park where some small palaces and pavilions are scattered over the beautiful garden with ensemble of 150 fountains and 3 cascades, decorated with splendid gilded statues, as well as the amazing "play of water" which will surprise you during your promenade in the park. Dinner.

Excursion to Pushkin and visit of Catherin’s Palace and the park. This small city of Pushkin, which is located 30 km to the south of St. Petersburg, was named after the great poet. It was called in the past "Tsarskoe Selo", or « Village of the Tsars ».

There is located one of the most beautiful residences of Russian tsars, the Catherine Palace, named after Peter the Great’s wife, Catherine I. It was designed by famous Italian architect Bartolomeo Rastrelli, the designer of the most important monuments and palaces of the city.

Transfer to the airport (very close to Pushkin) and departure.
